UPPER FACE

Frown Lines (between Eyebrows)
Frown lines, also known as "11" lines or Glabella lines are the vertical creases appearing between the eyebrows, generating a tired or angry scowling look. An expert practitioner at Rejuvenus Clinic can smooth these frown lines, resulting in a rejuvenated and more relaxed appearance.
The number of units required to treat this area typically ranges from 20 to 30 units. However, the exact dosage may vary based on factors such as the depth of the lines and the strength of the underlying muscles.

Forehead Lines
Forehead wrinkles or “surprise lines” appear more prevalent as we age. Excessive forehead lines give you a more aged appearance. Horizontal forehead lines are primarily due to genetic aging. Sun damage, smoking, and other forms of damage result in deep creases. Our anti-aging injections lessen the effect of forehead wrinkles.
Treating these lines usually requires around 10 to 20 units of BOTOX. As with other areas, individual variations in muscle strength and skin elasticity can influence the ideal dosage.

Bunny Lines (Top of the Nose )
Bunny lines are creases that appear when the nose wrinkles up when we squint, snarl, sniff or smell something. These lines are caused by contacting the nasalis muscle. Careful injections of Botulinum Toxin (Botox) can improve the appearance of these lines.
The amount of Botox in this area can range from 5-10 units.
EYES

Brow Lift (Eyebrows/ Hooded Eyes)
Using an advanced technique, Botox injections can provide a “chemical brow lift” or “Botox facelift.” This procedure involves an experienced practitioner placing injections in specific areas on the upper eyebrow to open up the eye area and improve the appearance of droopy eyelids.
10 to 20 units are usually required to achieve a natural brow lift effect and improve the shape of eyebrow arches.

Crow’s Feet (Wrinkles around the Eyes)
One of Botox’s most popular treatment areas are reducing crow’s feet. These appear at the outer corners of the eyes, and they show up the most when you smile, squirt and laugh. Botox is an effective treatment for reducing their appearance. It acts by helping relax the muscles around the eyes, providing a smoothing appearance and minimizing the look of lines and wrinkles.
The number of Botox units in multiple injection sites can range from 10-30. The dosage depends on the severity of the lines and the specific characteristics of your facial muscles.

Jelly Roll (Under the Eyes) Botox
The small area of fullness under the eyes is often called the "jelly roll" area. This area of fullness can be smoothed out with a tiny amount of botox using a cautious approach and injected into the under-eye area. Botox in the undereyes primarily addresses wrinkles and fine lines, while dermal fillers are more commonly used to address volume loss and hollowing in the tear trough area.
A typical treatment would be 2-5 Botox units, though this can vary based on factors such as the individual needs, the specific area being treated and individual anatomy.
LOWER FACE

Smoker Lines (Vertical lip lines around the mouth)
Vertical fine lines that appear above the upper lip, often referred to as “smoker’s lines,” "barcode lines," “lipstick lines” or "perioral lines", often become more evident as we age and can develop regardless of whether you smoke. Lipstick lines are difficult to treat, most practitioners recommend treating these in combination with dermal fillers, chemical peels or RF microneedling.
Treating these lines may require around 4 to 8 units of BOTOX. Injections in this area not only reduce the appearance of lines but also provide a subtle "Lip Flip" or "Lip Lift" to enhance the lip’s contour. This procedure allows the upper lip to unfurl and look more full for the perfect-looking pout.

Gummy Smile
Some people feel like they show too much gum when they smile. The good news is that Botox injections in the muscle that elevate the upper lip can temporarily relax them and reduce the upward pull that exposes the gums. This results in a more balanced and aesthetically pleasing smile with less gum showing.
Patients who show a lot of their gums when smiling can correct their gummy smiles with BOTOX. Injections of 4 to 6 units per side can relax the upper lip for a more natural smile.

Marionette Lines (Drooping Corners of the Mouth)
If your mouth is naturally curved downward, Botox can be used to subtly lift the corners of the mouth by relaxing the muscles and pulling the lip corners down.
Drooping mouth corners can give a perpetually sad or downturned expression. To address this concern, approximately 6 to 12 units of BOTOX can be injected into each side of the mouth. This helps lift the corners of the mouth and create a more youthful look.

Chin Dimpling Botox
As we age, the chin muscles become overactive. Meaning they flex more often than they should, creating a dimpling appearance. Chin Botox relaxes these muscles, smoothing out their dimpled effect.
Chin dimpling, also known as “orange peel chin,” can be softened with around 5 to 10 units of BOTOX. This dosage relaxes the underlying muscles responsible for the appearance of dimples when you speak or move your chin.

OTHER THERAPEUTIC USES

Masseter Reduction (Facial Slimming and TMJ)
A wide jaw appearance is often caused by overactive masseter muscles, which also contribute to teeth grinding (bruxism) and clenching. Our Botox injectors in Toronto regularly inject these muscles to cosmetically narrow the jaw or improve the tension and pain from teeth clenching, bruxism, or TMJ (temporomandibular joint) dysfunction.
Overdeveloped jaw muscles can contribute to a square face shape. A BOTOX masseter reduction softens the contours of the jaw with 20 to 30 units per side, but this can vary based on individual needs and the desired outcome. Some individuals may require more or less, with some needing 50 units or more depending on the size of the muscle and the extent of slimming desired. The treatment can slim the face while also alleviate symptoms of TMJ.

Nefertiti Lift (Jawline & Neck Bands)
Lines and wrinkles develop on the neck as we age due to several reasons. Botox can smooth the neck in a procedure known as the “Nefertiti lift.” It effectively relaxes two lines around the neck: horizontal and vertical.
The platysma muscles in the neck can create vertical cords or bands that become more prominent as we age and the skin gets thinner. Fortunately, these platysmal bands can be addressed with BOTOX. The large surface area requires 10 to 20 units per band for effective treatment.

Hyperhidrosis (Excessive Sweating)
Hyperhidrosis is the medical term for excessive sweating. Normally, the body produces sweat to regulate body temperature. Sometimes, the nerves that control the sweat glands become overactive and excess sweat is produced. It can have a significant impact on self-confidence and can affect your quality of life.
Excessive sweating, or hyperhidrosis, can be significantly improved with Botox cosmetic treatment. The number of units of Botox needed varies for each person, but on average, a session requires 100 units. Depending on the condition, Botox can be injected in the armpits (axillae), palms, or face.

Barbie Botox (Trapezius Botox or Traptox)
Botox can effectively reduce the size and tension of the trapezius muscles in the neck and shoulders. While these muscles are critical for daily movements, they can become enlarged after certain activities like weightlifting, reaching overhead, or sitting with poor posture. The Traptox treatment can ease the pain and tension in the neck and shoulder area while also achieving a cosmetic effect. The treatment is also called “Barbie Botox” due to its ability to create a longer and leaner neck and shoulder area.
The number of units needed for traptox varies from patient to patient, but the most common range is 50 to 100 units per treatment. The trapezius muscles are quite large and strong, so relaxing them effectively requires more neurotoxin compared to other botox treatments.

Calf Slimming
The calf-slimming treatment targets the gastrocnemius muscles (the larger, outer calf muscles), helping relax and reduce their size over time. This treatment is recommended for people who feel like their calves are bulky or overly muscular and are looking to achieve a more slender leg shape.
The number of units of Botox used for calf slimming can be highly variable depending on the size of the muscle and your aesthetic goals. A common dosage is 100-200 units, but the exact amount can vary. Our qualified medical professionals can discuss this with you at your appointment and formulate a personalized treatment plan depending on your goals.

WRINKLE TYPES TREATED WITH BOTOX INJECTIONS IN TORONTO
DYNAMIC WRINKLES
Botulinum toxin injections are most effective at treating dynamic wrinkles, or lines that can be seen when you move your facial muscles. These wrinkles result from muscle contractions and are not seen when the face is relaxed. As you express your emotions through smiling, laughing, crying, or frowning, the skin over your facial muscles moves, stretches, and folds, turning into fine lines and wrinkles over time. Dynamic wrinkles are caused by repetitive motions of the face, which means that they can be effectively softened or eliminated with Botox cosmetic injections into the underlying muscles.
STATIC WRINKLES
OStatic wrinkles are lines that are present even when your face is relaxed. Over time, dynamic wrinkles deepen and progress, turning into static wrinkles and remaining etched into the surface of your skin, even at rest. Typically, static wrinkles are more resistant to Botox and require higher doses to achieve the desired effect. Static wrinkles often require a combination of treatments, complementing Botox with chemical peels or RF microneedling to achieve the desired effect.
