WHAT ARE DERMAL FILLERS?

THE AGEING PROCESS

Aging is a natural phenomenon. The ageing process, combined with years of sun damage, environmental factors and facial expressions can affect our appearance in many ways. Over time, facial contours change gradually and volume is lost in the temple, forehead, and cheeks.
Skin laxity in the jawline and lower face may increase, creating an overly jowly look. Often the nasolabial folds (the lines that move downwards from the outer nostrils towards the corners of the mouth); and oral commissure creases (the actual corners of the mouth), appear deeper due to the laxity of the cheeks.
There’s other major factors that are involved in aging – a decrease in naturally occurring collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid (HA) in our bodies. These are crucial for maintaining adequate skin hydration and volume. As levels decline with age, we see an increase in fine/ deep wrinkles and a loss of elasticity, which results in a sagging skin appearance.
FACIAL DERMAL FILLERS
Dermal fillers come in two varieties: semi-permanent and temporary. Cheek Filler
Cheek augmentation enhances the cheekbones and can restore lost volume. This service is a great way to contour and define your features. We carry various fillers to treat this area. Your procedure is customized based on your anatomy and goals. The results are immediate and has little to no down time. Swelling and bruising depends on the person. Most people do 1-2 syringes. Chin Augmentation

For first time filler patients, the first syringe of filler is typically a good base to get started. In order to maintain the volume, a second syringe of filler a month later is recommended for patients that desire fuller lips. Lip filler lasts 4-6 months. The results are immediate and has little to no down time. Swelling and bruising depends on the person therefore it cannot be predicted.

Nasolabial Folds (smile lines)
Fill in your nasiolabial folds or "laugh lines". We carry various fillers to treat this area. Your procedure is customized based on your anatomy and goals. The results are immediate and has little to no down time. Swelling and bruising depends on the person. Lasts 4-9 months. Most people need 1-2 syringes for a correction.

Eye Filler
Filler is used to fill in deep-set or sunken eye hollows that give the appearance of dark circles. Even though filler does not remove the actual pigmentation of the under eye, supporting the skin with filler makes it appear brighter and gives you a less tired look. The filler used is determined at the office visit depending on assessment. Our injectors use a cannula to perform this procedure on 90% of the cases. When a cannula is used, there is essentially no bruising. Swelling varies person to person. The results are immediate and has little to no down time. Lasts 9-12 months.

Jawline
Enhance the jawline and chin projection to balance facial proportions. Jawline filler takes an average of 3-6 syringes of filler in order to achieve good results. The type of filler used varies person to person depending on assessment and goals. The results are immediate and has little to no down time. Swelling and bruising depends on the person.

Horizontal Neck Lines
Filler is injected strategically to the horizontal neck folds that we call "tech-neck". The filler is injected very superficially. The results are immediate and swelling and bruising depends on the person. Please be advised that this area typically bruises. Our injectors recommend you wear a scarf to conceal the horizontal bruising. 1-2 syringes are used typically.
